Meet the Team

 

Ben Pastor
Director of Advancement

Ben Pastor is a veteran independent school advancement officer, who in recent years has run the Advancement programs at Branson School, in Ross, CA, as well as at The Community School of Naples, in FL.  

Ben began his advancement career at the Taft School, in Watertown, CT from where he is also an alumnus. He served on the Major Gifts team, was an Assistant Director of Development, and he and his wife Ledlie (Rumsey Class of 1992) ran multiple dorms on campus. 

After Taft, Ben graduated from Hamilton College, in Clinton, NY. Ben and his family are deeply connected to Rumsey, with his daughters being third-generation Rumsey students.

 

 

Christian Anderson
Associate Director of Advancement

Christian Anderson joins the Advancement team after 7 years as an Upper School teacher, and 5 years as the Assistant Director of Residential Life. Christian is a dorm parent, weekend head, and is the Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball team. He holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and an M. Ed from the University of San Diego. 

A native of Litchfield County, Christian loves living in the Shepaug Valley and being a part of the local community. He has served in the Washington Volunteer Fire Department since 2020 and joined the Board of Directors of the Washington Scholarship Fund in 2023.  

Christian manages the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations. He enjoys connecting with current and former parents as well as alumni who love Rumsey as much as he does. Please reach out to Christian for alumni inquiries and campus visits.


 

Stephanie Proteau
Advancement Associate

Stephanie Proteau is a Rumsey Hall graduate from the class of 2015. After Rumsey she went on to Canterbury School. She graduated with a major in marketing and a minor in management from Franklin Pierce University in 2022. While attending college she played Division 1 ice hockey. A passion she will be carrying over to Rumsey as she will also be coaching ice hockey. Prior to coming to Rumsey, she was an educator at an elementary school. She is so excited to be back as a Blue Dog!
